Your resume is a document that represents you. It contains a summary of your skills, abilities and accomplishments. Resume formats all over the internet and overrated. Adding something new on your resume will be an advantage for you. So, here are four tips you can use the next time you write your resume.
Documenting everything you do
It is important that you have a documentation of what you did or experience on a job or internships, it could be a photo or video. Having a documentation allows you to show employers what are your experiences and capable of.
You can post all of these documentations on your LinkedIn account. If you haven’t heard of LinkedIn, it is the world’s largest professional network which allow users or job hunters to different companies and vice versa. All you have to do is to update and share everything you learned and experienced.
With your resume, you can write a short description of what you did and include a link where employers can browse your examples. It is a great advantage to have this on your resume for them to see that you can actually do what you are claiming on your resume. Employers might also find it impressive if you have a blog where you write everything you accomplished since you we’re in college.
Resume on Google Docs
Another way of sending your resume is through Google Docs. Write a cover letter and at the end of it insert a link of your resume that you saved on you Google Docs. The employer who received your resume will be able to edit and comment on it. Another use of this is that you can edit it and will automatically update on the copy you sent to the employer. By doing this, you will never have to send another email to the same employer just to show your updated resume.
